NCAA Football Rankings – Week 5

Here’s the rankings after the 5th week. Oregon is all the way up to number 1! My ranking system really looks like I have a Pac-10 bias. And thinking about it, maybe I have an offensive power bias (although defensive ability plays a key part in my system), which would be a Pac-10 bias. We’ll see how it plays out.

Other intersting Pac-10 notes: UCLA fell 8 spots in the rankings after a win against WSU in which they allowed the cougars to score 28 points (the most they’ve scored all season).

My thoughts at this point is that teams like Cal and Arizona State are being rewarded for having played (albeit losing to) highly ranked teams. This sort of makes sense, but really. I’m confident that the formulas will work themselves out as more games are played.

Oh, and because these rankings articles aren’t long enough, I figured I’d actually show my predictions for the coming Pac-10 games!
